amazing food and service-almost everything was right on the spot. owner was really friendly and accommodating. we got the
olives-5/5, just like ones from spain (also, they have a thing where they don't clear the plates of olives because it's bad luck in their culture, they're not being lazy)
tumaca 5/5 (really good, ordered twice), perfect balance of the olive oil, crunchy bread and tomatoes
boquerones- 4/5 not for me because i don't like anchovies, but group liked it
octopus- 5/5 amazing, not too rubbery like other ones, goes well with sauce
oyster mushrooms- 4/5 the sauce complimented the mushrooms well, but there was just too much of the sauce to go with it
scallops-5/5 texture was great, cooked perfectly 100% recommend
shrimp- 4/5 a bit over cooked for me and the sauce wasn't great, but it wasn't the worst
service 5/5, everything came out really quickly and out plates were cleared just after we were finished. servers also friendly and made great recommendations.
overall experience: 5/5, definitely will be coming back! -

This place is amazing!!! It is a French Basque tapas eatery. Charles will explain all the dishes to you, recommend what to get, and give you instructions how to eat them. The whole point of this place is delicious fresh flavors that work well together. The name might sound like a bad word in Mexican Spanish but it means tapas (Pintxo) and drink (Pote), or so I was lead to believe. The Spanish wines we had were fabulous! It's a small restaurant, mostly bar seating or two tops. If you're going with a group of 4? make a reservation. It's not a good place for big groups or any group bigger than
4, really. It's in a strip mall, but it's a Los Gatos strip mall, so it's upscale. The decor is lovely. Don't miss the cod fritters, white sardines, and tortilla (omelette) with mushrooms and chorizo. I don't remember the name of the dessert we had (like a custardy thing with ice cream) but it was absolutely to die for! -

Love this place! A cozy, little family owned restaurant with some of the best pintxos and tapas in the area.

Let's start with the most complicated thing: It's pronounced 'pincho potay'. PintxoPote is a tapas bar in the Spanish/Basque style. It's a small, casually-decorated room. The tables are a little close together so it can get loud but that's part of the ambiance.
There were four of us so we got to sample the menu:
* Marcona almonds: Unremarkable. There's nothing wrong with these but I prefer when they are flavored. Hint: truffle-flavored marcona almonds are outstanding.
* Tabla kursaal: This is a sampler of cured hams, cheeses, and olives. Yum. There was a good quantity of meat but it felt a little light on the cheese.
* Indurain blanco: We got this based on the strong recommendation of our server (he practically insisted). It's a skewer with tuna belly, white anchovies, olive, and a few other things. You're supposed to eat this in one bite. White anchovies are much milder than the grey ones you normally get. I quite enjoyed this.
Huevo con jamón: Fried egg on potatoes and ham. Sounded great but was only ok. I think it needed a kick.
Chorizo omelette: Unremarkable. Yeah, I know I already used that word in this review but I can't even remember eating this.
Grilled octopus: Usually one of my favorite dishes in Mediterranean restaurants. This one was good but not great. That's PintxoPote in a nutshell.
Bread pudding: Well, this wasn't really bread pudding but I'm not sure what else to call it. Bread soaked in cinnamon and vanilla, then caramelized. Eh.
There's a interesting selection of wines from Spain: sparking, white, and red. No hard alcohol but I think I saw some beers.
I should also add that everyone working there was super friendly and accommodating. I liked PintxoPote and wouldn't mind going back. I just wanted to be wowed a little more. -

Honestly amazing experience and Spanish food! The staff is extremely passionate about each dish and I love the recommendations. Our host/server knew everything on the menu, gave us great recommendations and was personable without being overly intrusive. My fave dish was the Gilda despite my disapproval of olives. I also really enjoyed the steak and vinegar mussels.
